Quantitative Analysis Between Blackboard Learning Management System and Students’ Learning

Abstract: Proper use of the Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS) motivates students to engage with their studies but the students within Material Science and Engineering (MSE) often use these LMSs to copy mathematical derivations, scientific information and submit coursework tasks without spending much time interacting with the system. Quantitatively, there is a piece of missing information on how interaction with the Blackboard LMS influences students' performances. Statistical evaluations were made by using the… Show more

“…This observation parallels with study who found that most students use BLB Subject content and Assessment applications because the content is what they study and is the same assessed content (Araka et al, 2021). It means that students spend time on specific applications, which is in line with other study who contends that there is a link between the time students spend using LMS and their grades (Darko, 2022). It is no wonder students use both applications.…”

“…Further, the studies by Darko (2022) andFernando Raguro et al, 2022) delve into the relationship between LMS engagement and student performance. Darko's study finds a positive correlation between LMS usage time and academic outcomes, nuanced by fluctuating student engagement patterns.…”
