“…Studies of fault‐generated escarpments (mountain fronts) have followed this model. The mountain front sinuosity index is almost routinely calculated (e.g., El Hamdouni, Irigaray, Fernandez, Chacón, & Keller, 2008; Silva, Goy, Zazo, & Bardají, 2003; Topal, 2018), but much less common are calculations of spacing ratio (Wallace, 1978) or faceting parameter, which informs about the degree of dissection (Ramírez‐Herrera, 1998; Wells et al., 1988). Indicators of relative intensity of tectonic activity of mountain fronts are also derived from discrete properties of other elements of geomorphic systems, such as front‐dissecting valleys, drainage basins within the footwall, and longitudinal river profiles (Das et al., 2019; Softa, Emre, Sözbilir, Spencer, & Turan, 2018).…”
