Abstract: Siglecs (sialic acid‐binding, immunoglobulin superfamily, lectins) are a family of transmembrane receptor‐type glycan recognition proteins in vertebrates that are primarily expressed on leukocytes and regulate immune responses. Siglecs are involved in several diseases, such as cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.
