Abstract:The skin is the body's largest organ and protects against mechanical, thermal, and physical harm. However, the skin's function and appearance decrease visibly with age due to repeated exposure to adverse environmental impacts such as UV rays and toxic substances and the development of oxidative stress in aging. During aging, these factors cause phenotypic changes in the skin, such as wrinkles, pigmentation, loss of elasticity, and moisture.
