Abstract:The intermetallic compound formations of Co-Ln (Ce, Pr, Gd, Dy and Er) in the molten LiCl-KCl eutectic at 873 K for an electrolytic reduction process was investigated with various electrochemical techniques of cyclic voltammetry, square wave voltammetry and open-circuit chronopotentiometry. The deposited Co-Ln alloy samples were prepared by potentiostatic electrolysis and further characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) with Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS). scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
