Quantitative Estimation of Anti Hypertension Combination by Ratio Subtraction Spectrophotometry Method

Abstract: BACKGROUND:Irbesartan and hydrochlorothiazide are a group of anti-hypertensive drugs that are very effective and safe to use to reduce blood pressure and oedema. The combination has a small active ingredient content so that if the treatment didn’t meet the requirements for therapeutic doses, it not achieved to the maximum therapy.AIM:The research aims to the simultaneous determination of irbesartan and hydrochlorothiazide in tablets by Ratio subtraction spectrophotometry method.METHODS:The absorption spectra a… Show more

“…This analysis assessed the statistical significance of the results, that the relationship between absorbance and concentration is linear [16], meaning the ratio subtraction spectrophotometry method can be used in this study. Figure 3 shows that the spectral overlap of INH (15 µg/mL), PRD (18 µg/mL), and mixture (INH 15 µg/mL and PRD 18 µg/mL) was overcome by using the ratio subtraction spectrophotometry method [15].…”

“…The concentration of the divisor was determined from a concentration range that satisfied the Lambert-Beer law. The spectral overlaps of the ratio spectrum of RFP, INH, and PRZ were obtained from various concentrations (Bachri et al, 2019).…”

“…In total, three UV spectrophotometric methods were developed. Tese methods have been proven to be accurate, precise, fast, simple, and eco-friendly for many combinations and multicomponent dosage formulations without using any hazardous solvents or invasive materials [30][31][32][33][34][35]. Additionally, more advanced UV spectrophotometric methods have been developed initially from these reported ones deploying further mathematical processing [36][37][38].…”
