Abstract: The metabolic process of purple sulphur bacteria's anoxygenic photosynthesis has been primarily studied in Allochromatium vinosum, a member of the Chromatiaceae family. However, the metabolic processes of purple sulphur bacteria from the Ectothiorhodospiraceae and Halorhodospiraceae families remain unexplored.
