“…Barton (2018) proposes an explanation of how the metaphysics and epistemology of zero can be analyzed satisfactorily within the enculturation framework by combining mathematical (numbers as properties of collections), philosophical (the philosophy of absence), and empirical (numerical cognition) studies. Rothstein and Lima (2018) present a study of the interpretation of quantity expressions in the Amazonian language of Yudja. The Yudja language allows for reference to exact cardinalities of collections, but Rothstein and Lima show that the expressions of exact cardinalities are not automatically used for exact measurements.…”
