Abstract:The property of steering in a global state allows an observer to affect the postmeasured states of a subsystem by performing different local measurements on the other part. We show that, in general, this property cannot be perfectly cloned by any joint operation between a steered subsystem and a third system. The perfect cloning is viable if and only if the initial state is of zero-discord. We also investigate the process of cloning the steered qubit of a Bell state by using a universal cloning machine. The qu… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
