Quantum state comparison amplifier with feedforward state correction

Abstract: Quantum mechanics imposes stringent constraints on the amplification of a quantum signal. Deterministic amplification of an unknown quantum state always implies the addition of a minimal amount of noise. 1 Linear and noiseless amplification is allowed in principle provided that it only works probabilistically 23. Here we present a probabilistic amplifier that combines two quantum state comparison amplifiers (SCAMP) 4 together with a feed-forward state correction strategy. Our system outperforms the unambiguous… Show more

“…x ∈ B |N| Variables x n ij encode whether an interval [i, j) ∈ I n is selected for the given station n ∈ N , hence they are binary. Constraint (11) ensures every time in the planning horizon at most one interval is active. Constraint (12) asserts that the required switching period before starting the next data transfer is respected.…”

“…Losses as well as spurious counts are detrimental for the final secret key rate as it makes the quantum state less distinguishable [11,60]. In this section, we are going to model the channel between the satellite and the OGS and to review the source of losses and background counts.…”
