Quantum string test of nonconformal holography

Abstract: We compute Lüscher corrections to the effective string tension in the PilchWarner background, holographically dual to N = 2 * supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. The same quantity can be calculated directly from field theory by solving the localization matrix model at large-N . We find complete agreement between the field-theory predictions and explicit string-theory calculation at strong coupling.
