Quantum triangular ice in the easy-axis ferromagnetic phase
S. A. Owerre
Abstract:We use spin wave theory to investigate the ground state properties of the Z2-invariant quantum XXZ model on the triangular lattice in the ferromagnetic phase. The Hamiltonian comprises nearest and next-nearest-neighbour Ising couplings, external magnetic fields, and a Z2-invariant ferromagnetic coupling. We show that quantum fluctuations are suppressed in this system, hence linear spin wave theory gives reasonable estimates of the ground state thermodynamic properties. Our results show that, at half-filling (z… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
