Photofission cross sections of 2~ 238U and 232Th are very different, both in magnitude and in their dependence on the incident photon energy. In fact, in the quasideuteron energy region, cry (Bi)< 10-2crf(U), with crf(Yh) having intermediate values. Also crl(Bi) increases monotonically vs. E~, while cri(U) and uj(Th) (above 75 MeV) are approximatively constant. We propose here a parametrization of photofission in the quasi-deuteron region, which fits, up to E~ ,-~m~, the photofission cross sections of these three nuclei.
