Abstract:Gravitational collapse in (n+2) dimensional quasi-spherical space-time is studied for a fluid with non vanishing radial pressure. An exact analytic solution is obtained (ignoring the arbitrary integration function) for the equation of state pr = (γ − 1)ρ. The singularity is studied locally by comparing the time of formation of apparent horizon and the central shell focusing singularity while the global nature of the final fate of collapse is characterized by the existence of radial null geodesic. It is reveale… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
