Abstract:Spacecraft observations provide evidence about the existence of various waves and kinetic instabilities in solar wind plasmas. These instabilities and waves plays an important role in the dynamics of solar wind. In the present work, bump on tail instability is revisited by employing the κ and then the modified (r, κ) distribution using quasilinear approach. The evolution of bump on tail instability was studied analytically and numerically by using the solar wind data. The growth rate of BOT instability for var… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
