Abstract:Abstract-Light localization into optical spatial solitons can be achieved by launching optical beams in nonlocal nonlinear nematic liquid crystals. Such solitons often undergo undesired fluctuations of their trajectories. We demonstrate that partial polymerization in monoacrylate-doped nematic liquid crystals is effective in quenching such fluctuations in transverse space.Spatial nonlocality in the optical response of dielectrics entails a number of benefits when dealing with nonlinear optics for signal proces… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
