Abstract: Introduction: Exogenous administration of the neuropeptide oxytocin exerts diverse effects on various neurobehavioural processes, including sleep and wakefulness. Since oxytocin can enhance attention to social and fear-related environmental cues, it should promote arousal and wakefulness.
