Quinazolinobenzodiazepine Derivatives, Novobenzomalvins A–C: Fibronectin Expression Regulators from Aspergillus novofumigatus

Abstract: Three new quinazolinobenzodiazepine derivatives, novobenzomalvins A (1), B (2), and C (3), have been isolated as fibronectin expression regulators from Aspergillus novofumigatus CBS117520. The structures of 1 to 3 were established by spectroscopic and physicochemical analysis, and chemical investigation including the total synthesis of 1. Treatment with novo-benzomalvins A (1), B (2), C (3), and N-methylnovobenzomalvin A (5) increased the expression of fibronectin in normal human neonatal dermal fibroblast cel… Show more

“…During previous research to identify novel fibronectin expression regulatory factors from fungal secondary metabolites, we isolated novobenzomalvins A–C from the fungus Aspergillus novofumigatus CBS117520 . These compounds were identified as quinazolinobenzodiazepine derivatives and were shown to up-regulate fibronectin expression in normal human neonatal dermal fibroblast primary cells.…”

“…The mass ion peak at m/z 514.258 in consonance with the molecular formula C 30 H 34 N 4 O 4 was also annotated as Novofumigatamide (17), which was formerly identified from Aspergillus novofumigatus CBS11520 as the new Aspergillus sp. [53]. In the same vein, metabolic profiling of the crude extracts of Aspergillus sp.…”

“…Among the new structures that have been isolated we can cite the novobenzomalvins A-C 52-54 shown in (Fig. 18) (from Aspergillus novofumigatus) that act as fibronectin expression regulators [82]. The molecules increased the fibronectin expression in normal human neonatal dermal fibroblast cells.…”
