“…In the head and neck region, it may occur in the mandible with an estimated incidence of 0.084% after irradiation for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC),18 in the calvarium; or rarely, in the skull base 10 11. Of the 20 cases of radiation-induced osteosarcoma of the skull base (RIOSB) identified in the literature, the most common primary tumour was pituitary adenoma (35%), followed by craniopharyngioma (20%), retinoblastoma (15%), rhabdomyosarcoma (10%), squamous cell carcinoma of the nasal cavity (10%) and maxillary and adenoid cystic carcinoma (10%) 10 11 19–26.
