Estimating and comparing the radiation cancer risk from cone-beam computed tomography and panoramic radiography in pediatric and adult patients
INTRODUCTIONIn recent years, cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) devices have increased in dentistry departments to optimize the diagnoses and treatments (1) . As compared with traditional radiographs such as panoramic, CBCT supports a wide range of applicability including 3D image quality and has accurate diagnosis of skeletal asymmetry, easier location of impacted teeth, improved surgical planning, and increased detection of pathologies placing (2)(3)(4) .
