Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Based Employee Attendance Management System

Abstract: Abstract.Manually recorded attendance of all the employees has produced some problems such as the data accuracy and staff performance efficiency. The objective of this research is to design and develop a software of RFID attendance system which is integrated with database system. This RFID attendance system was developed using several main components such as tags that will be used as a replacement of ID cards and a reader device that will read the information related to the employee attendance. The result of t… Show more

“…The use of NFC innovation in student attendance systems will likely have an overall impact on the environment for teaching and learning. The idea behind using the NFC-based attendance system is to leverage the two items that students should always have on them (i.e., their matric cards) [6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14] This paper surveys past investigations made for an assortment of purposes identified with a modernized attendance system. To accomplish this level-headed, we have a systematic writing audit to recognize all current exploration proof pertinent to this point [11].This examination can add to the assortment of information on the utilization or the reception of NFC in instruction organizations, specifically for overseeing attendance or members in an occasion/class.…”

“…It was one of the most significant discoveries of the 20th century. Modern present registering administrations undoubtedly rely heavily on wireless communication innovations like Zig Bee, Bluetooth, and RFID, as well as Infrared (IR) [13]. A short-range radio frequency convention of communication, NFC operates on 13.56 MHz frequencies, with at least 424 kilobits/sec information transfer rates.…”

“…Most security schemes deploy biometrics, such as the real-time face detection-based approach (Kuang & Baul, 2020;Mady & Hilles, 2017;Srivastava et al, 2020;Shrestha et al, 2018;Kumar et al, 2020;Yusof et al, 2018) and fingerprints (Thejaswini et al, 2021;Hasan et al, 2020). Moreover, a number of studies have suggested hardware-based authentications as something you have such as RFID (Putrada & Abdurohman, 2020;Maramis & Rompas, 2018), Near-Field Communication (NFC) (Oo et al, 2018), and wireless sensor networks (Alassery, 2019), while location-based services for area restrictions have been used to track employees (Fatkharrofiqi et al, 2020) and students (Ding, Cao & Zhu, 2018). In terms of multi-factor attendance systems, a two-factor system using RFID and face identification has been implemented for employees (Kurniawan & Zaky, 2020).…”

“…In these institutions, RFID-based AMSs are becoming popular day by day. The basic structure of some RFID-based AMSs is described in [3,4,5]. Among these, in [3] an AMS is proposed that can track a student using pre-installed RFID readers on the different locations of the campus.…”

“…In [4] a detailed synopsis of an investigation is done to check the practicality as well as the feasibility of RFID. In [5] an AMS is proposed to increase the efficiency of reporting, discipline and performance evaluation of the employees. In the recent years, RFID based AMSs are being blended with the Internet of Things (IoT) technology.…”
