Radioactivity of Fertilizer and China (NORM) in Japan

Abstract: Radioactivity of 6 fertilizer samples, 7 china clay samples and 5 china glaze samples, which are commonly used in Japan, was measured using a Nal(Tl) scintillation spectrometer. Potassium activity of fertilizer was almost 540-740 Bq/kg, and the highest activity was 9,100 Bq/kg. Activity of fertilizer was 10 times higher for potassium than for uranium-series.
