“…where ͑TlϩTc͒ 70 keV and ͑TlϩTc͒ 140 keV denote dual-isotope images in the respective energy windows and k is a crosstalk fraction between 140 keV and 70 keV window. The other approach for cross-talk correction is ͑in addition to cross-talk fractions͒ to use images from the third 26 and even fourth energy windows 4 to estimate cross-talk in the window of interest. The images from these additional windows, when appropriately scaled, give an estimate of cross-talk in terms of total number of counts and spatial distribution of crosstalk photons.…”

“…The study protocol was stress 99m Tc/rest 201 Tl, which is the most common protocol. In the rest 99m Tc/stress 201 Tl protocol (Yang et al 1993), mutual cross-talk between 99m Tc and 201 Tl can be slightly different. Our dog rest/rest study estimated 99m Tc cross-talk in the 70 keV 201 Tl window at around 30% and 201 Tl cross-talk in the 140 keV 99m Tc window at around 5%.…”

“…A number of researchers have investigated using subtraction-based or restoration-based methods to compensate for the effects of cross-talk in simultaneous Tc-99m / Tl-201 imaging (Yang et al, 1993;Knesaurek, 1994;Hademenos et al, 1995;Moore et al, 1995;Links et al, 1996). These methods involve estimating the cross-contamination component and either subtracting or deconvolving the data to yield an uncontaminated result.…”
