Abstract:Summary
The cells responsible for delayed hypersensitivity reactivity in the mouse act in a radioresistant fashion only if such irradiated cells are injected directly into the site of antigen challenge. Intravenous transfer of irradiated, primed spleen cells does not achieve a transfer of sensitivity to show delayed type hypersensitivity reactions. Transfer of sensitivity by the intravenous route can be effected by injection of non-irradiated spleen cells from primed mice.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
