“…It can be observed that sample S(PNVCL 122 ) 4 exhibited an LCST of 31 8C, which is reasonable since the molecular weight of the polymeric arm is around 17 000 g/mol; the sample S(PNVCL 18 ) 4 exhibited an LCST of 43 8C, and the molecular weight of the polymeric arm is around 2,500 g/mol. The difference in the LCST values in the range of molecular weights studied observed in this work is in agreement with those reported in the literature 27,28,31 and lower than other reports, 38,47-49 but in both cases, for linear PNVCL. Nevertheless, there is no report in the literature on the LCST of pure star-shaped PNVCL for a more adequate comparison.…”

“…Although they found that the polymerization of NVCL did not proceed in an ideal RAFT process, they could demonstrate the living character of macroCTAs of PNVCL by copolymerization with vinyl acetate. Bi et al 31 reported that the polymerization of NVCL with trithiocarbonates exhibited a linear relationship between the molecular weight and monomer conversion. Licea-Claverie et al 28 have also reported the synthesis of PNVCL-b-PHA copolymers employing a trithiocarbonate RAFT agent showing the living character of the macroCTA based on PNVCL.…”

“…Only a few CRP techniques can properly mediate the radical polymerization of NVCL, including reversible additionfragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) [16][17][18][19][88][89][90][91][92][93][94][95], a combination of ring-opening polymerization (ROP) and RAFT [96,97], atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) [98], and Cobalt mediated radical polymerization (CMRP) [20,29,66]. Devasia et al [88] reported the first sequential RAFT polymerization to prepare block copolymers of A c c e p t e d M a n u s c r i p t 25 polymerization.…”

“…Recently, some studies have been published concerning the controlled polymerization of VCL 4,[14][15] . However, to the best of our knowledge, this is the first publication reporting the synthesis of the PDMAEMAb-PVCL-b-PDMAEMA and PVCL-b-PDMAEMA-b-PVCL triblock copolymers.…”

“…In a previous study we synthesized triblock copolymers of PtBA-b-PVCL-b-PtBA obtained by RAFT polymerization using PVCL as a MCTA 4 . Shao et al 15 synthesized PVCL by RAFT polymerization using trithiocarbonate or dithiocarbamate as CTAs and the former allowed better controlled over the polymerization. In this study, we synthesized new temperature and pHsensitive PDMAEMA-b-PVCL-b-PDMAEMA and PVCLb-PDMAEMA-b-PVCL triblock copolymers by RAFT polymerization.…”
