Abstract:We examine rotational transitions of HCl in collisions with H 2 by carrying out quantum mechanical close-coupling and quasi-classical trajectory calculations on a recently developed globally accurate full-dimensional ab initio potential energy surface for the H 3 Cl system. Signatures of rainbow scattering in rotationally inelastic collisions are found in the state resolved integral and differential cross sections as functions of the impact parameter (initial orbital angular momentum) and final rotational quan… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
