Abstract:Bin microphysics schemes prognose the raindrop size distribution (RSD), which can be directly evaluated through comparison with disdrometer observations. This evaluation will provide implications on the reliability of simulated cloud microphysics by bin microphysics schemes. In this study, the RSDs of a precipitation event associated with an extratropical cyclone passing South Korea are simulated using a bin microphysics scheme and compared with those observed by a ground‐based disdrometer. The simulated mean … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
