Abstract:Raman and far-infrared spectra of solid CBr, at temperatures between 20 K and the melting point, 365 K, have been recorded. Low-temperature results are compared with earlier data and with the predictions of a group theoretical analysis based on the known crystal structure. Isotopic and crystal field effects are distinguished. The number of Raman peaks, especially in the lattice and v3 regions, is compatible with a large unit cell. Certain features are interpreted with the help of recent spectra and calculation… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
