Random Error can Explain the Illusion of Diversity

Abstract: Kardosh et al. (2022; PNAS) present data for an “illusion of diversity” in which participants tend to overestimate the prevalence of minority social groups and underestimate the prevalence of majority social groups. I provide data suggesting that these results may arise simply due to random response error.
