“…Since the introduction of Rapid Rhino nasal packs, four clinical trials have compared them with Merocel nasal packs: two trails studied patients with epistaxis, 7,8 while the other two assessed pack use after nasal surgery. 9, 10 Badran et al 7 studied 52 patients with epistaxis, and concluded that both pack types were equally effective in epistaxis control, but that Rapid Rhino packs were more comfortable for patients and easier for healthcare workers to insert and remove.…”

“…As expected, Rapid Rhino showed better performance than PVA-NT in terms of patient comfort (pain during placement and removal, epistaxis) [9], [10]. Effectivity for use on patients with epistaxis or after sinus surgery was judged to be favorable [9], [10], [11], [12].…”

“…30 In turn, Rapid Rhino ® packs cause less discomfort on removal than standard Merocel ® packs. 31,32 Routine packing may not be justified after nasal septal surgery, as the incidence of epistaxis may be as low as 3 per cent. 33 If nasal packs are to be used, Rapid Rhino ® packs have been found, in a small study, to be more easily removed than Merocel ® packs, and to cause less reactionary bleeding.…”
