Rank‐based analysis method to determine OWA weights and its application in group decision making

Abstract: To determine the weights of the ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operator, a new approach that is termed as rank‐based analysis method with subjective information is developed. Available information called importance ratio that is obtained by subjective judgment of expert(s) is used in the OWA weights determination. The proposed approach is further extended to the situation of group decision making and is also used to obtain the weights of experts in this situation. In this case, the final OWA weights are obta… Show more

“…There are multiple variants of this problem, depending on the type of input rankings, the function to be optimized and the type of consensus ranking to be obtained. The problem of aggregating rankings plays an important role in decision‐making, 5,16,19,20 which is a topic that attracts much interest in the social sciences, such as economics, management, psychology, and so forth.…”

“…It is a parameterized class of the mean type aggregation operators. If the OWA operator weights are determined, then special aggregation operators will be obtained, such as max, arithmetic average, and min operators (Amarante, 2018;Gong et al, 2019;Jin et al, 2019a;Merig o & Yager, 2019;Yager, 2019;. Since it appeared, it has attracted much attention from a large number of well-known research scholars (Beliakov et al, 2018;Leite & Skrjanc, 2019;Mesiar et al, 2018).…”
