Rapid-growth carcinosarcoma of the esophagus arising from 0-IIc squamous cell carcinoma after definitive chemoradiotherapy: a case report

Abstract: A case of carcinosarcoma arising from the area of intraepithelial spread of relapsed esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) after defi nitive chemoradiotherapy (CRT) is reported herein. A 71-year-old man was referred to our hospital because of a superfi cial esophageal carcinoma. Defi nitive CRT was performed because the patient refused surgical treatment.
