“…6a). Difference in the values of TOC reduction and degradation of CHD, reflects the presence of carbon atom as by-products in treated water (Chen et al, 2020). This result supported with reduction in hydrophobic compound and conversion of heteroatoms such as chlorine or nitrogen into inorganic anions in solution was also determined to investigate the photocatalytic efficiency of catalysts.…”

“…Interestingly, studies showed that use of adsorption-photocatalysis simultaneously grab attention for efficient removal of organic pollutant due to recombination of electron-hole pair disadvantage of photocatalysis (Yuan et al, 2020). Various studies showed significant removal of antibiotics using adsorption-photocatalysis treatment such as ciprofloxacin (with 59.5% adsorption and 82.5 % degradation in 60 min), tetracycline (with 18% adsorption and 70% degradation in 90 min), ofloxacin (with 93.4% adsorption and photocatalytic degradation in 30 min) (Chen et al, 2020).Motivated by previous studies, Barium ferrites with exceptional magnetic and photocatalytic property used for synthesis of new material in order to develop the dual functioning material by combining the advantages of both adsorption-photocatalysis technologies (Roonasi and Mazinani, 2017a). As per the literature, barium ferrites have less been studied and can also be used for easy separation as well as strong visible light absorption capacity due to narrower band gap (Casbeer et al, 2012).…”

“…These authors managed to eliminate 99.85% of the compound of interest, with an initial concentration equal to 100 mg/L at pH 3 and in presence of a H 2 O 2 concentration of 300 mg/L, a confining pressure of 0.5 MPa, and a pumping pressure of 20 MPa. Adsorption combined with photocatalysis was investigated by Chen et al [86] They found out that Fe 3+ and 8-hydroxyquinoline-7-carboxylic (HQLC) could improve the photocatalytic effect of TiO 2 . Therefore, they synthesized an Fe-HQLC/TiO 2 flower composite to remove phenol from water.…”

“…From the perspective of green chemistry that focuses on the synthesis of an environmentally friendly photocatalyst, a cooperative photoactivation process for enhancing the photocatalysis performance is imperatively demanded. To date, a variety of high-performance visible light catalysts have been synthesized through combining element loading and special configurations (mesoporous, hollow, oxygen vacancies) together, to realize a cooperative photoactivation process, and applied in photocatalysis, biocatalysis, and new energy storage. Park et al synthesized a Cu x O–TiO 2 photocatalyst in a simple way, which showed high CO 2 photoreduction efficiency due to the mesoporous p-type/n-type heterojunction structure. In addition, porous materials have a large specific surface area and uniform pore structure, which are conducive to the diffusion of the metal precursor solution and uniform loading at the molecular level.…”
