“…Liable/reducible oxygen species are usually involved in the oxidation reactions over oxide catalysts. , In general, when an reactant is oxidized at the active surface, the oxidant is usually a surface lattice oxygen atom instead of gas-phase oxygen, which creates a surface oxygen vacancy. , The production of oxygen vacancies plays an important role in the formation of mobile oxygen species. As is known that the amount of oxygen vacancies can be estimated by several parameters, such as the ratio of Ce 3+ /(Ce 3+ +Ce 4+ ) from Ce 3d XPS, the value of A 599 / A 600 for Raman, and the ratio of O II /(O I +O II ) from O 1s XPS . According to the preceding result, these values are calculated to be 27.56, 0.67, 51.65 for CuCe-Fe sample, which is totally larger than that of 22.0, 0.60, 36.33, respectively, for CuCe sample.…”

“…In our previous literature, the different ratio of Fe/Cu and the different Fe precursors were selected to be doped on the CuO-Ce 0.8 Zr 0.2 O 2 materials for CO-PROX . In this work, simplified CuO-CeO 2 - and Fe-doped CuO-CeO 2 materials were prepared by the simple and solvent-free route of combustion synthesis.…”

“…A significant number of scientific publications have been devoted to the selective catalytic oxidation of CO, but the vast majority of works are based on noble and rare earth metals [2][3][4][5][6], the cost and limited availability of which prevents their widespread use, and therefore these works remain at the level of academic research. Replacement of expensive materials with relatively cheap onestransition metal oxides is the main line of research today [7][8][9][10].…”

“…For metal supported catalysts on CeO 2 (i.e Au, Pt, Rh) the presence of punctual defects on the metal oxide facilitates the interaction of the metallic phase with the support surface allowing a high dispersion and special dynamic interaction (electronic enrichment, redispersion process etc) [31]. Additionally modifying the chemical composition of CeO 2 with other oxides (i.e ZrO 2 , MnOx) also greatly improves the catalyst activity [32,33]. It is known that the introduction of zirconium enhances oxygen mobility even further by the formation of solid solution improving the redox properties and the oxygen buffering action observed for the Ce oxides [34].…”
