Public Significance StatementCanadian society has become much more diverse in recent decades, and has celebrated, but in some respects also been challenged by this diversity. Based on the experience and opinions of the author, this article presents a perspective on some of the ways in which Canadian psychology has responded to the issues related to diversity, and some of the potential areas for the ongoing development of the science and profession of psychology. In particular, the article recommends enhanced respect for diversity, recognition of the ubiquitous nature of intersectionality, the encouragement of social and restorative justice perspectives, and equitable participation of all persons in society.
