Abstract: It has been demonstrated that chronic low-grade infection, or numerous localized foci of inflammation induced in the rabbit by repeated minute inoculations with relatively avirulent (green or indifferent) streptococci, evoke a state of hypersensitivity to the bacteria (1, 2).
