Reaction of β-Aroylacrylic Acids with Triphenylphosphine Hydrobromide and Certain Reactions of the Resulting Products

Abstract

Triphenyl(b-aroylethyl)phosphonium bromides and esters of a-(triphenylphosphoniobromido)-baroylpropionic acids were synthesized by the reaction of b-aroylacrylic acids and their esters. Oximes derived from triphenyl(b-aroylethyl)phosphonium bromides were reduced into the corresponding diphenylphosphoryl derivatives.
