“…Although the intercept (T 0 ) in Piéron's law can be related to task complexity, it is difficult to measure (Pins & Bonnet, 1996). Bonnet, Gurlekian, and Harris (1992) have found that Piéron's law fit well the decrease in RT with the size of luminous stimuli and attributed the mechanism to probability summation. Stafford and Gurney (2004) demon strated that many response mechanisms follow Piéron's law, including a basal ganglia model (Gurney, Prescott, & Redgrave, 2001a, 2001bHumphries & Gurney, 2002), which is a decision mechanism not desi gned to explain RT data.…”
