Real Problem Solving as a Teaching Strategy for Physics Education: Case Study

Abstract: The project presents the application of the stages proposed by Poyla for solving problems in mathematics, which have been adapted in mechanical physic. Critical reading strategies have also been applied resulting in reading physical problems comprehensively. Objectives: To incorporate real problem solving as a teaching strategy in two mechanical physics courses (one experimental and another traditional), in order to characterize the group that applies the problem-solving strategy. To validate the problem-solvi… Show more

“…It will improve the quality and com-petence of learners or students (Sudarmin et al, 2019). The development of Coastal Malay Ethnoscience-Based Teaching Materials, as stated by Lopez-Jimenez et al (2021), must be implemented. It aligns with the government's program on the independent curriculum in preparing the Educational Unit Operational Curriculum or KOSP.…”

“…Problem-solving skills need to be possessed by elementary, middle, and high school students to support their thinking patterns. According to Lopez-Jimenez et al (2021), steps to guide, monitor, and assist students in solving problems can develop their critical thinking skills. Since being at the elementary and secondary school levels, the government has designed lessons to train critical thinking and problem-solving skills.…”

“…Science learning by applying real problem solving strategies that are close to the student's environment will create meaningful learning (López-Jiménez, et al, 2021). The real problem in question is, for example, environmental damage.…”
