Real-Time Monitoring for BDS Signal-In-Space Anomalies Using Ground Observation Data

Abstract: Signal-in-space (SIS) User Range Error (URE) is one of the major error sources for BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) applications and can reach tens of meters or even more. Therefore, real-time monitoring of SIS anomalies has a great realistic significance to guarantee the safety of users. According to an analysis of the BDS navigation messages, it showed that the User Range Accuracy (URA) index could not reflect the change of URE when it was abnormal. The conventional models using the relationship betw… Show more

“…With the optimized method, 32/13/1 orbital maneuvers and 102/13/12 non-maneuvering anomalies are detected for the GEO/IGSO/Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellites from day-of-year (DOY) 1 to 300 in 2017. As opposed to the single station experiment in Huang’s contribution, Jiang et al [13] applied 13 MGEX stations over the Asia–Pacific region to detect BDS-2 satellite anomalies. A total of 35 BDS-2 anomalies were detected from DOY 305 to 361 in 2015.…”

“…For BeiDou satellites, the URA index transmitted by the broadcast ephemeris has been constant, even in the case of satellite failure [13, 14]. Additionally, the specific definition of the corresponding SIS accuracy identification parameter is also not given in the Interface Control Document file [15].…”

“…Heng and Gunning optimized the GPS and GLObal NAvigation Satellite System (GLONASS) SIS anomaly detection method by combining the post and real-time estimation methods of SISURE [2,9,10,11,12,13]. Jiang proposed a method to predict the real-time trend of BDS SISURE and optimized the threshold of SISURE anomaly detection based on trend-eliminating SISURE [14]. At present, the real-time estimation method of SISURE is mainly based on either code observation or the smoothed code.…”
