Abstract:The two-dimensional (2D) honeycomb lattice has attracted intensive research interest due to the appearance of Dirac-type band structures as the consequence of two sublattices in the honeycomb structure. Introducing strong spin−orbit coupling (SOC) leads to a gap opening at the Dirac point, transforming the honeycomb lattice into a 2D topological insulator as a platform for the quantum spin Hall effect (QSHE). In this work, we realize a 2D honeycomb-structured film with tellurium, the heaviest nonradioactive el… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
