Overcharging is a primary cause of thermal runaway in ternary lithium‐ion batteries, often leading to serious safety incidents. Early detection of thermal runaway during overcharging is therefore critical. This study investigates a 5 Ah ternary lithium battery pack, applying appropriate preload force to simulate real‐world conditions. Various overcharge experiments are conducted under different conditions, and changes in battery voltage, temperature, and expansion force are thoroughly analyzed. The results indicate that under the same initial conditions, higher charging rates accelerate the temperature rise in the lithium battery. Additionally, the internal gas generation rate increases, causing a faster rise in edge pressure and leading to earlier battery cracking. Building on these findings, a three‐level early warning algorithm is developed, which comprehensively considers voltage, temperature, and expansion force changes. Experimental validation demonstrates that this algorithm can accurately identify the current stage of thermal runaway and detect the transition to the third warning stage 604 s before complete failure, thus providing critical protection for the safe operation of the battery pack. This study offers valuable guidance for enhancing the monitoring and early warning capabilities of battery management systems.

The development of the battery‐type electrode for the hybrid supercapacitor is very challenging owing to poor cycle stability. To overcome this problem, heterostructures would be an excellent alternative attributed to the synergetic effect of different materials physical properties, including electrical conductivity, mechanical flexibility, and so forth. Furthermore, heterostructures also offer significant redox reactions on account of more active sites, enhanced charge transfers kinetics via extra electron carriers, and ion diffusion rates, along with improved cyclic stability. Herein, we prepared heterostructures of Co3O4 nanospheres and WO3−x nanorods via a single‐step wet chemical method at a reaction time of 1 h (CoW1) and 6 h (CoW2). The electrochemical investigations reveal improved specific capacitance of CoW1 (157 F g−1) than CoW2 (188 F g−1) at 0.3 A g−1. Furthermore, an aqueous hybrid supercapacitor (AHS) shows the specific capacitance of 38 F g−1 at 1 A g−1. Notably, it exhibits a remarkable specific capacity retention of 93% up to 10 000 cycles at 100 mV s−1. Thus, CoW2 have great potential of electrode materials for the next‐generation energy storage devices.

Controlling the adverse effects of global warming on human communities requires reducing carbon dioxide emissions and developing clean energy resources. Fossil fuel overuse damages the environment and raises sustainability concerns. As a resource‐rich element, cobalt oxide hybrids have attracted considerable attention as low‐priced and eco‐friendly electrocatalysts. Alkaline solutions disperse Co3O4 easily despite its highly stable nature, which arises from the reverse spinel structures of Co. Metal oxides, nickel foam, polymeric frameworks, and carbon nanotubes have been successfully served to combine with the Co3O4 constructions for improving the electrocatalytic performance. To date, no comprehensive study has systematically investigated the relation between the cobalt oxide hybrid's physicochemical‐electronic aspects and its catalytic features. This review mainly focuses on material design, fabrication, morphology, structural characteristics, and electroactivity, considering the critical factors towards practical applications. The economic impacts of the constructions and their expected contribution to large‐scale utilizations are also demonstrated. Moreover, this research discusses the synergistic effects of crucial electrochemical parameters on sustainable energy production over the Co3O4‐based hybrids. Finally, some beneficial conclusive suggestions are made based on emerging factors for real‐world application. Future research in the field aiming at developing sustainable and clean energy production technologies can effectively benefit from the findings of this report.
