Recent Advances in Laterally-Loaded Piles within Mechanically-Stabilized Earth Walls

Abstract: Pile foundations have been increasingly installed within mechanically-stabilized earth walls (MSE) on rocks or compressible soils to support structural loads. Integral abutment bridges, sound walls, and traffic signs are common examples of the structures supported by pile foundations installed within or behind MSE walls.
