Recent Advances of MOFs and MOF‐Derived Materials in Thermally Driven Organic Transformations

Abstract: Owing to the almost boundless structural tunability, MOF and MOF-derived catalysts have recently exhibited structures of higher complexity, and hence, have demonstrated activity in a wide array of organic transformations. These reactions have a broad range of important applications ranging from pharmaceuticals to agriculture. Given the increasing number of publications in the area, this Minireview is focused on the most recent advancements in thermally driven organic transformations using both MOFs, nanopartic… Show more

“…Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), fabricatedb yi norganic nodes and organic linkers, have becomep romisingp recursors or templatesf or obtaining functional materials by variousa pproaches, among which thermald ecomposition is af acile and feasible method. [11] Rational calcination of the MOF precursor can not only retain the fundamentalm orphology but also create novel surface or interface properties. [12] Jiao et al obtained triple-shelled oxide hollow dodecahedra with ac ontrolled two-step calcination of Co/Mn-ZIF.…”

“…To date, there are a few MOF precursors that are regularly employed to make MOF-derived carbons, such as ZIF-8 and ZIF-67. [21][22][23][24] ZIFs, a subset of MOFs, are constructed by imidazole ligands having a relatively high density of N-based coordination sites. 25 However, ZIFs are predominately constructed by Zn and Co cations limiting the type of the metallic species that are subsequently incorporated into the carbons.…”

“…[1] Due to its periodic skeleton, uniform pore size, abundant active sites, big specific area and adjustable structure, MOF has been widely used in various fields. [2][3][4][5][6] Zeolite imidazolate framework-67 (ZIF-67) was a kind of MOF, which was composed of Co 2 + and 2-methylimidazole. [7] In addition to these advantages of the MOF structure, ZIF-67 also has the stability of the zeolite structure, [8,9] which further expands the application range of ZIF-67.…”
