Abstract: Over the last decade, carbon‐based metal‐free electrocatalysts (C‐MFECs) have become important in electrocatalysis. This field is started thanks to the initial discovery that nitrogen atom doped carbon can function as a metal‐free electrode in alkaline fuel cells.
