Abstract. Is work engagement, like job satisfaction, primarily a function of personality? In total, 397 working adults completed a short, reliable, three-facet model of work engagement, a short IQ test, various self-ratings, a Big Five (bright-side) personality scale, and a measure of the personality disorders (dark-side). Work engagement was related to age, intelligence, positive self-ratings, and all the personality variables. A regression analysis revealed six variables significantly related to total work engagement: sex, age, IQ, ratings of personal ambitiousness, trait Neuroticism and Cluster A personality disorders. Regressions onto each of the three facets of work engagement showed slightly different findings, yet in each, older people with lower Cluster A scores and who rated themselves as ambitious scored higher on all facets. Over a third of the variance was explained in each regression. In every analysis, the rating of ambitiousness was most strongly related to work engagement. Implications and limitations are acknowledged.

Leadership is seen as the most critical aspect in successfully developing educational institutions, supporting stated aims and objectives, and enhancing education. It is a vital aspect in determining whether an organization succeeds or fails. A leader's style is defined by how he guides and encourages others to accomplish institutional objectives. Basic skills are described as "a collection of psychological and social areas of expertise and interpersonal skills that enable individuals to make informed choices, resolve issues, think critically and analytically, effectively communicate, develop relationships, empathize with others, and cope and enhance their quality of life, productively and healthily." This research aims to determine the effect of Leadership as a practical skill on educational establishments. From the perspective of the school, the principal's Leadership is critical. His function and responsibilities will impact all facets of the school organization’s life. At the executive level of the school, the principal's Leadership is the significant variable that serves as a bridge between individual lives and the future outlook of any institution. This research aims to demonstrate how Leadership as a practical skill, affects educational institution’s performance. This is a conceptual study that provides a theoretical foundation for the notion. The reports and findings indicate that leadership style plays a critical role in boosting an institution's success since it influences the organization's culture and the value of its personnel.

Health care delivery involves the dispensation and provision of services that promote and maintainthe health of the people. The World Health Organization recognizes leadership and governance asone of the major pillars of an efficient healthcare delivery system. Effective leadership is integralto organizational success. The World Bank rates the healthcare delivery systems in sub-SaharanAfrica as one of the worst globally. Previous studies have demonstrated that poor leadership has asubstantial contribution to the moribund state of healthcare delivery in the sub-continent.Transactional leaders incentivize workers to boost their morale but gives no room for errors whichare bound to happen in sociological systems. Transformational leaders motivate and empower thesubordinates who can misuse the authority given to them. Contingency leaders analyze situationsbefore taking critical decisions but there are many unknown variables. The traits theory says thatgreat leaders are born. This however discourages inclusivity and diversity. Additionally, leaderscan be trained but they don’t turn out to have the same effectiveness despite undergoing similartraining. Functional leaders aim to eliminate bureaucracy and prioritize organization’s goalsbut organizational change management is complicated in reality. For the integrated approach,everything matters but nobody knows everything.This narrative review aims to examine how each leadership theory and style could be applied toadvance healthcare delivery in sub-Saharan Africa and found different leadership styles with theassociated merits and demerits but the hybrid approach that analyzes relevant variables would bethe optimal approach to reinvigorate healthcare delivery in sub-Sahara Africa.
