In hazelnut allergies, detection of specific IgE to Cor a 9 suggests a FA that might result in a life-threatening reaction, whereas detection of specific IgE solely to Cor a 1, the homolog of the birch pollen allergen Bet v 1, suggests a pollen-associated FA [15]. Similarly, positive specific IgE to the LTP of hazelnut, Cor a 8, suggests an increased risk of severe systemic reactions.…”
