En al ámbito de la tecnología educativa, en los últimos años ha adquirido considerable protagonismo el concepto de entorno personal de aprendizaje (PLE), que se aborda tanto desde una perspectiva pedagógica como tecnológica. Ante la disparidad de concepciones asociadas a los PLE, este artículo propone un análisis cualitativo de documentos de referencia dedicados a este concepto, y establece categorías que permiten descomponer el análisis y profundizar en él. A partir del análisis, se llega a una visión más aglutinadora del PLE que puede ser aprovechada por las universidades al servicio de metodologías activas centradas en el estudiante. Paraules clau: PLE; educación y tecnología; tecnologías de la información y la comunicación; ambientes virtuales de aprendizaje; educación superior.

Self-regulated learning (SRL) competences are crucial for lifelong learning. Their cultivation requires the right balance between freedom and guidance during the learning processes. Current learning systems and approaches, such as personal learning environments, give overwhelming freedom, but also let weak learners alone. Other systems, such as learning management systems or adaptive systems, tend to institutionalise learners too much, which does not support the development of SRL competences. This chapter presents possibilities and approaches to support SRL by the use of technology. After discussing the theoretical background of SRL and related technologies, a formal framework is presented that describes the SRL process, related competences, and guidelines. Furthermore, a variety of methods is presented, how learners can be supported to learn in a self-regulated way.

Visualizations of algorithms contribute to improving computer science education. The process of teaching and learning of algorithms is often complex and hard to understand problem. Visualization is a useful technique for learning in any computer science course. In this paper an e-learning tool for shortest paths algorithms visualization is described. The developed e-learning tool allows creating, editing and saving graph structure and visualizes the algorithm steps execution. It is intended to be used as a supplement to face-to-face instruction or as a stand-alone application. The conceptual applicability of the described e-learning tool is illustrated by implementation of Dijkstra algorithm. The preliminary test results provide evidence of the usability of the e-learning tool and its potential to support students' development of efficient mental models regarding shortest paths algorithms. This elearning tool is intended to integrate different algorithms for shortest path determination.
