“…It is within this tumultuous context, as Bristol-based researchers, that we were examining how music festivals produce a social space where diverse histories, identities and the public are seen and heard. Moreover, at the same time, COVID-19 was exposing and intensifying ongoing issues around inequality and diversity within live events, prompting demands to find effective means to improve the cultural sector (Taylor et al, 2023).
