“…Although this definition is from a western country, it fits the description of a preceptor within the Ghanaian context. A representative from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana (N&MCG) in an earlier study explained that the preceptor's role is expected to focus on collaboration between clinical agencies and training institutions in clinical teaching, organization of clinical conferences, and provision of feedback to students, although there was uncertainty about the extent of implementation [ 6 ].
